About 15 years ago, I started to educate myself about where our food comes from. What I learned was eye opening and began to completely transform the way that I shop, the way I cook, and the way that our family eats.
When it came to sourcing ingredients for Best Ever Granola, I took the same approach. Ingredients matter!
I began making as many local connections with producers and purveyors as possible; first sourcing pure PA maple syrup from Paul Family Farms. Locally, we also trust Steel City Salt Company with our pink Himalayan sea salt, Colombino Farmers with our cacao nibs, who direct import from small Columbian family farms, as well as local growers like Sweetwater Farms for fresh herbs.
Even ingredients that aren’t available locally are thoughtfully sourced — organic gluten free rolled oats, Organic coconut shreds and organic raw seeds from Terrasoul, who is committed to sustainable, organic, ethical superfoods from around the world.
All of these buying choices seem like small decisions, but they make a really big impact on the environment, our local economy, and directly impact the farmers that produce each and every ingredient that is packed into our granola.
